Service Commitment
- How is in-home pet sitting better than kennels?
- We keep pets on their normal routines as much as possible, prioritizing their well-being with one-on-one attention and sending you regular text updates!
- Staying at home reduces stress compared to kennels, ensuring a quiet, comfortable, and familiar environment.
Pet Safety and Precautions
- What safety measures are in place for my pet?
- Examples of safety considerations include leashing your dog before opening the front door to help prevent escape, watching your dog’s body language to help avoid potential stressors on walks, and not leaving cats unattended with string toys.
Pet Care Insurance Coverage
- Is Very Welles Pet Sitting insured?
- Yes, because Very Welles is a full-time business, we are able to offer pet care insurance, providing added protection and peace of mind for our customers.
- This does not replace pet owner insurance.
Concurrent Pet Sitting Services
- Will my pet be left alone?
- Possibly, pets receiving Full-Day or Overnight Care may be left alone for 2–4 hours unless otherwise agreed, as these services may coincide with other pets’ Daily Drop-Ins or Meet & Greets.
Pet Photography
- Can I receive pet photography without pet sitting?
- No, in order to receive pet photos, your pet must be receiving pet care. Please view our pet sitting services and become a client!
- Can I be in the photos or be present while they are taken?
- At this time, we do not include people in our photos or allow observers. Limiting distractions helps us ensure the best experience and results.
Requirements For Service

Google Forms
- Where can I find the forms?
- All the necessary Google Forms are found on our website under the forms tab.
- When do I need to complete them?
- ALL applicable forms must be submitted before scheduling a Meet & Greet, which is required to reserve service dates.
Vaccinations
- Are there vaccination requirements?
- Just rabies, as mandated by Michigan law.
- However, we ask which other vaccines your pet has for our records.
Supplies and Reimbursement
- Do I need to provide supplies?
- Yes, customers must provide all necessary pet supplies. This includes food, treats, bowls, poop bags, cleaning supplies, etc.
- What if supplies are missing or broken?
- You agree to reimburse the cost plus a $3 transaction fee within 24 hours.
Media Release
- Will my pet be featured?
- Possibly, photos or videos of your pet may be shared on social media to celebrate and highlight the pets under the care of Very Welles.
- Professional photos may also be taken by our photographer for marketing purposes.
- How will you maintain privacy?
- Names, home addresses, and personal details remain confidential at all times.
- We do not post photos in front of pets’ homes, and we are mindful of pet tags that display sensitive information.
Booking and Payment Policies

Availability
- How do I check your availability?
- If you’re a new customer, submit a Contact Form on our website.
- If you’re an existing client, you may submit a Contact Form or send us an email or text—whichever is easiest for you!
Booking and Deposit
- Is a deposit required?
- Yes, a 50% nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve service dates unless otherwise agreed.
Invoicing and Payment
- When is payment due?
- Full payment is due by the service start date.
- Accepted payments include Venmo, cash, and check.
Right to Cancel for Non-Payment
- What if I don’t pay on time?
- Pets are not considered under our care until full payment is received.
- Services may be cancelled due to unpaid balances.
Holiday Fee
- What’s the holiday fee?
- The specific holidays are charged at 1.5 times the regular rate. The holidays are listed in our full Service Agreement.
- The fee is applied uniquely to your booking based on the service type, location, and number of pets.
- For multi-day bookings, only the holiday itself incurs the fee.
Security and Liability

Premises Security
- How does you handle home security?
- We secure your home as instructed by you.
Lock Malfunctions
- What happens if there’s a lock malfunction?
- We may hire a locksmith to avoid disruption to your pet’s care.
- You agree to reimburse the locksmith fee plus a $3 transaction fee.
Waiver of Claims
- What does the waiver of claims entail?
- You release Very Welles Pet Sitting from all claims except those due to negligence or willful misconduct.
